della - 2014-08-13 11:22 AM TrailGirl - 2014-08-13 10:18 AM So none of you see a GOOD reason to withhold the price? I am glad I'm not alone in thinking it actually tends to hurt your chances of selling the horse in most cases.
In the high end horses I belive the seller like to respect potential buyers privicey and not post the price (what the person pays ) for everybody to see.
Well, If I ever sell a $50,000 horse, I'm telling EVERYONE lol......after the buyer pays me.
LOL!! You and me both, if I ever buy a 50 K horse ill flash that fat stack of cash all over jk jk
Also I enquired on a private treaty stud.... it was way great price and no mare care charged. You never know. Sometimes they just want to make sure thing are right before they get given a counted stack of cash. |

Location: Georgia | This thread is cracking me up! But I agree that private treatys are a waste of time and I've learned from past experiences that they are almost always severely overpriced. I dont even bother asking anymore. Just know its out of my range lol. |

When I see a horse advertised on multiple websites, yet the prices vary according to the class level of the site....
Apparently some places are like shopping at Macy's, where as others are like shopping at Kmart..... |

Location: MD | I guess if I was going to list a horse for sale on a website (but lets be honest I wont because I suck at getting rid of anything) I would ask people to pm me for a price... why you ask?
Think about all of the traffic you're getting. More people are going to look at your ad when there is 15 comments of nosey people wanting to know the price because half of them aren't serious anyway. Its like the theory of making overnight workers at a 24hr grocery store park in front of the store to make it appear busier. you'll attract buyers. yes it frustrates me too. but maybe this is some peoples line of logic, maybe not, but this is what I would think if I did it.... |

I'm the opposite. When I see a bunch of people asking the same question, I assume that the seller is not getting back with people.
As a buyer, it frustrates me when a price is not listed.... or a location, or bloodline, etc. As a seller, I am going to list my price. I don't need 100 people emailing me asking me for a price when only 5 of them may be in that price point. |

When I see a bunch of people asking, I think, surely someone has bought this horse by now....and, if not, there must be something wrong with it. |

Yeah, it's annoying seeing different prices on different sites. However, some horse's prices go up with training and hauling, so if someone has a horse priced at $2k and then a month later it's now $3k due to training, it's just easier to not list a price and have to remember to change it on all the websites. |

When I see the same question over n over, especially after I took the time to READ the information & READ the comments, and find that the seller has already answered the question(s) several times!!! I am amazed at how others "get along" in the world!!

Yeah, that's not cool! I usually google the horse's name to see if it pops up on other sites. I've saved myself some real headache doing some research more than once. |
