I am just getting back into barrel racing, and don't want to spend a ton of money on an LQ trailer until I see whether or not I want to go a lot. I have a friend who has a 2001 Elite 2 horse with a 9' Outlaw conversion that is in excellent shape. She recently offered it to me for $25,000 as she wants to get something bigger. It is about the size I want.
Is that a good deal or not?
Am I crazy for looking at a trailer that is already 13 years old?

Not at all crazy!

We sold ours 2001 in January.  It was a little bigger, 4 horse, with a 13 ft LQ and we sold it for 35,000.  Elites hold their value very well.

I have a '98 Elite with Outlaw conversion and love it. Everything works all the time and doesn't fall apart .

I bought a 2000 , 4 horse about a 7' short wall. There are a few things I've repaired. All minor. But the bones of the trailer are in excellent shape. Pulls wonderful!
Like any trailer check the floors, turn on everything. Check the roof, see if it leaks, etc.

I would not think the age of the trailer is as important as the care the trailer has received. As long as it has been well maintained I would not be the least bit afraid of it.

Looked around and that appears to be a pretty fair price depending on how well its been cared for.

I would buy it in a heartbeat with it being an Elite and having an Outlaw conversion. I've been wanting to downsize and I'm looking for a 2 horse Platinum Coach or Elite with an Outlaw conversion.

Yes. Definitely too old. And overpriced. You should put her in contact with me so I don't 'accidentally' buy it.

Lol! No way! Sounds like a great deal!

Nope, I would go for it. We just got a 2003 Bloomer and I love it!!! Yea, minor things but my husband fixed those. So, as long as the structure is sound, no problem!! Good luck, and have fun racing again!
