I have two OTT horses. How can I find out if either or both of them ran on lasix? AQHA, the track, or a state racing commission?

If the horses have had official outs you can go to Equibase.com and enter the horses name in the box on upper right hand side. It will bring up your horse and have a place where you can click on results. When the races come up, just click on "chart" then look for your horse's name in the results. If there is a L under M/E then your horse was on lasix! Hope this helps.

b blinkers
f front bandages
k nasal strip? really depends on the state
B bute, but most states don't declare bute anymore

Most racehorses do run on lasix just because you only run a horse 6-8 times a year on average and it is best to just use it instead of risking your horse bleeding.  Also, if you have declared lasix then you can use K red and some of the other drugs to prevent bleeding without getting a bad test on them.  The racing comissions just don't want any bleeder drugs in thier system without first declaring lasix to protect the betting public.

At the track I work at...
B is Bute
K is Ketoprofen
F is Banamine
L is Lasix
BK would mean they ran on Bute and Ketoprofen.
Might be different at the track your horses ran at but that is what I would guess.

B-bute
b-Blinkers
f-front bandages
L-lasix
K-flipping rig

These are the symbols used nationally by Equibase and The Daily Racing Form.

This was interesting! I have two off the track horses and looking through their results, Streak has BL b listed every time so Bute, Lasix and blinkers I assume.
Cliff never ran on lasix. He has B (bute?) and b (blinkers?) every race and his last start they have listed B bk. I have no idea what the k means. That race was at Anthony Downs in 2009.

Bigtime mistake - 2014-08-25 10:07 AM K is flipping rig.

That wouldn't surprise me. Cliff failed on the track because he hated the starting gate.
