Location: Do I hear Banjos? | I currently feed my old guy TC Senior. It has been great for keeping the weight on over the past year. BUT...lately we have had serious variations in the feed that are really noticeable and make me question spending the $24.99 a bag. One batch was so oily the oil was leaking out of the bag all over the floor of the feed room. Then this latest batch is dry and just looks like a different color/texture all together. What gives?
The folks at the Co op are recommending a feed out of Texas called Total Equine. It's $19/bag...so I need to research this one a bit I guess.
I hate to switch but the inconsistency of the TC is bothering me. Does nayone have a contact/Rep they would suggest i talk to at Triple Crown? (My work internet blocks their site...lol)

Location: In the Hills of Texas | They were suppose to have fixed that problem with the feed variations. I had the same problem back in Feb. They replaced my feed and the next batch was good but I have since gone with Renew Gold. |

| On the east coast triple crown and souther states are the same, they have always had that problem, that is why i quit feeding it. Also, the people in the store wher not nice. The change was especially bad during the change of seasons. In the midwest they also make some of the nutrina feeds. As i take to,the tc rep at te nbha world last year. |

Location: East TN | I also feed TC Senior to my 30 yr old and my biggest issue is that every bag I get feels like a brick. It's gonna be like carrying in a concrete slab this winter. |

Location: Kentucky | There is a TC rep on here, but I cannot remember their name.
I'm in KY and the only problem I've ever had with TC is that I've bought bags that are hard as bricks. I spoke with a TC rep about it, who asked where I got my feed from. They contacted the feed store and advised them to start rotating their shipments. I haven't had a problem since then. |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | Well I did get an email for a rep and I wrote to her to explain what I am seeing with the feed and ask her basically..."What the heck"? It's not a cheap feed but with all the inconsistencies you can't tell me that I am getting the same number of calories/pound or ratio of fats/protien etc.
I'll see what she can tell me. In the mean time I'm looking at other options. I'll look up Renew Gold...not sure that's available around here as I've not ever seen it. I can get Total Equine and that is an extruded feed that would be very digestible for the old guy. Does anyone here use that?

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | I wrote my email to the TC rep and she has already responded. I definitely feel she wants to get to the cause of the inconsistency issues and try to get things corrected. I will be giving her feed tag info and pictures of the current batch of feed etc.
I am definitely happy to have gotten such a quick and concerned response! |

| We kept having problems with it being either hard or soaking wet so just stopped feeding it all together. I have 20 head or horses to feed and don't want to fight a feed all the time. Good to hear you got some help. |

| I applaud "Trailgirl" for getting in contact with us. She has sent along a picture and a tag so that we can see her quality issue, pass this information back to the mill, report it in our quality control report and work to fix the problem.
I encourage "Crazyowgirl63" and anyone else with feed concerns, or questions to please contact us. We ask that you send us pictures, tag info, date of purchase and any helpful information you can provide to us. Please call us toll free at 800-451-9916, email us at [email protected] or contact us by our website.

Location: Paradise , tx | I have been feeding TC for almost a year now and have not had any problems with consistancy, wetness or dryness or hardness. Very pleased with it so far. Maybe the feed store I use has a higher turn-over rate? |

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | Tailwind I believe it is an issue with the mill up here where the feed I am buying is being made. The milling dates I buy are all very very recent...within a week or two in most cases. This mill is having QC issues I think. One time it was so oily the oil was leaking from the bags and making a mess. Then this latest issue is the opposite...the feed is much lighter in color and very dry. Sounds like an equipment issue.
So...if they can get things addressed and get a more consistent product...I'd be very appreciative. Your mill is likely doing a much better job of being consistent. |
