When did he become a "bucker" ????? Your question was about him not "running" hard for you......NOW....I am confused! |

When ever suitably inspired to do it. He did it Wednesday. Never has a reason. He just gets to feeling good. He may do it once a month but it's always on the way to the 1st barrel. Even bough he doesn't always do it I'm afraid he will. Maybe that's part of my problem. I got hurt on a bucker one time when I stubborn and thought I was invincible. She put me in my place so now bucking scares me

I think you have answered your own question......you are, more than likely, more tentative going to the first barrel......Additionally, the faster you hustle him, the less chance he has to buck....go for it....and Good Luck! |

I agree that saddle dont fit if its sliding back/foreward/sideways it dont fit and its hurting him. I know it only slides back, but I had to add some extra words tonight for some reason,,, |

Location: Here | If it is always to the first barrel then there is something about that lead that could be bothering him. Honestly, change saddles, and get the boy a good vet check |

I don't know but I wouldn't think so because we've swapped him to running left and he does it that way too. |

Location: MD | sounds like it might be a combo to me. poor saddle fit plus maybe you're a bit more timid on him. I'll tell you I got pretty miffed someone entered my colt because I asked her to ride him for me for the weekend and I get a text message saying she won the 2D with lots of bobbles.... I wasn't even able to get him out of the 5D.
He's just the type that isn't going to go faster than you are ACTUALLY ready for. Not what you ask for. Is your horse this way? |

I just found the pictures of the saddle and fit. Honestly I would not put this saddle back on him |

Location: In the land of peanuts and cotton | Well.... Our run was a epic fail! Had to use my trick riding skills tonight. I havnt had that bad of a run in a long time BUT he did run! Infact His get up and go got up and almost left me in the alley which made a bad approach to the first. Creamed it. Almost left me sitting at the 2nd I was on the back of my saddle almost all the way to the 3rd got back in my seat just in time to bulldoze the 3rd. |

Location: In the land of peanuts and cotton | Had even more run today. I think staying 1 handed is the key. It's just hard for me because I'm used to 2 hands. But we still bulldozed the 1st barrel |
