cwbynark - 2014-08-29 6:52 AM I can't believe no one has said doc o Lena ..his name pops up all the time in pedigrees and one of the hottest studs is a grandson of him.. Blazin Jetolena!!!

Due to age it is usually so far back and honestly, there is hardly a cow bred horse that DOESNT have his name...so I went for the other known names.

Both my broodmares are out of daughters of freckles playboy and by sons of peptoboonsmal. I love that cross, so im a little partial lol.

The roans going to LDS unleashed next year (very excited about that)
The sorrel im hoping to take to a son of first down dash.

Other cow lines I like are playgun highbrow cat (I find the cats to be very easy to train but very smart and senstive so maybe not good for some people) smart little leana, dry doc theres so many i love im drawing a blank.

Miss n cash who sired a ton of top cowhorse and cutters and is by dash for cash (my one mare has a full sister of his on her maternal side) so you can get "cowbreed" with some run influance as well. Some reining mares might be a nice cross to.

Sorry if I repeated anything I just skimmed most the posts.

Not an attempt to hijack the message but I have a 3 year old own daughter of Reminic we are just now starting. She seems brilliant but too early to tell for sure. What do you mean by "fragile"? Is there something particular I should look for?

By "fragile" they mean fragile minded, cant handle alot of pressure or change.
you have to take them slow or they lose their marbles

LindsayJordan84 - 2014-08-29 12:53 AM  Woo hoo, y'all are making me excited about my new mare we picked up this weekend. She's a reining cull out that they trained for mounted shooting. She rode great and they said she's got a pretty big motor if you ask her for speed. I really like her personality so far.

I recognized Shining Spark from my reiner friends back in the day, but I wondered if everything else I recognized was too far back to mean anything. The Doc Bar, Colonel Freckles, Freckles Playboy, etc.

Nu Chex To Cash was pretty big in both reining and cowhorse if I remember.

Love the pedigree.
Nu Chex To Cash is still a big name.
Doc Wilson was a nice cutter and producer, particularly brood mare producer. He stood about 45 minutes from us most of his life.

Oh you would know by now. The first time they were ever saddled or rode, they would just kind of skit around wild. Didn't matter how much ground work you did and we did a lot. kind of scatter brained. Not crazy get you off their back, just goofy. Then the other ones would act like kid broke 10yr old been there done that, right from day one.
