I have a horse that is pretty automatic. He doesn't need much tuning and really only needs to be trotted during the week. I need some ideas to get some "life" into him during the week. He seems bored, but I don't want to pick on him or do any schooling. Any suggestions?

set up a trail course, over poles, side pass, back , work a gate.  Someone posted a video of a gal that would work her horse over stuff like that on a lunge line.....I've done it, seems to spice them up a bit.  Do you have access to a roping dummy?  Track it, swim in a lake/pool.

I think Connie Combs has on her website a setup for a obstacle course that looked pretty cool.
