I had decided on the placement of my tattoo long before I got it. When I'm at work, it's covered out of respect for my employer. Otherwise, I don't give a flip if it shows. My next one will be on my wrist. Why do you care? |

Actually I don't care, just wondering if tats are so special why do you feel the need to hide them. It's almost like you're secretly ashamed of them. If I was going to pay the price and pain I wouldn't want to hide it. |

I probably wouldn't hide it, but I got mine at 47. I'm 6 years from full retirement at a career I've been in my adult life. My employer says they can't be shown, hence the reason for not showing it. Trust me, I am in no way ashamed of my tattoo. I love it, I show it away from work and plan to get more. My point is people make assumptions of people with tattoos when they shouldn't. There are well respected professional people who have tats. Some dink is going to judge them for it when in all actuality, the professional tattooed person is likely far more successful than the finger pointing dink. One cannot judge a person's character by their tattoo. It's just that simple. |

Location: PNW | 1. Like others have said - who gives a rip what other people think of your tattoo. Get it for YOU, nobody else.
2. Make sure you get it in a spot comfortably hidden should the occasion arise. I have a tattoo on the top of my foot. It takes up the entire top of my foot, but is easily hidden with a change in shoe. I'm an elementary teacher, and it is important for me to be able to cover it up. It is a chrysanthemum, nothing inappropriate, but for events like conferences, open houses, etc. I feel that it could potentially be a distraction. I plan to get another tattoo on my back/top of my shoulder. Again, it is easily concealed for work since tank tops are not appropriate in my professional setting, so it would never be seen at all.
3. If you're asking for opinions, even from the bible, you probably aren't ready to commit to one. You said you already have piercings, I don't think God would forgive piercings but condemn tattoos and vice versa. And remember, he forgives.
Good luck! I love your design. But make sure you turn the shoe over so that your luck doesn't fall out ;) |

Edited to add...the simple truth, my dear, is that Jesus doesnt look at your body, he looks at your heart. Tattooing is NOT a sin...the Levitical law was done away with when Jesus died on the cross for our sins. I'm not a personal fan of tattoos, but so what? If you want to display that pretty cross on your body, go ahead. But, think about it awhile....give yourself a year. It's not like cutting your hair off or piercing your eyebrow...it is a forever thing. But if you decide to do this, do not let anybody tell you the Bible frowns on it, that simply is not true. Jesus loves you completely, girl...tatts or no... |

some people get them for their own personal reasons.. not to show the world.. I see nothing wrong with covering them up or not.. |
