I was reading something just now where someone said APHA is accepting cropouts again. Then I went and searched their 2014 rulebook and found this.  Am I reading this correctly? A foal from two AQHA or AQHA/TB cross can be registered again?

G. A horse with both sire and dam registered in the American Quarter Horse Association, The Jockey Club of New York or any foreign Thoroughbred registry recognized by The Jockey Club of New York, the combination of any two of these Associations with at least one specified “natural Paint marking” in the described zone in Figure B that exceeds 4-inches, shall be eligible for Regular Registry.

Yes, that is correct.  I read the rule say that they are once again registering crop outs from two AQHA parents or an AQHA and JC parent.

Wouldn't it be interesting (and simple) if they would just make up their minds and stick to it.

It's on the menu on the home page of the APHA website...2014 APHA Rule Book  But here's a link to it:  http://www.apha.com/programs/forms/rule-books

I have a mare that is supposed to be AQHA, both parents where but something about her sock going past her knee, and a little white patch on her tummy she had to be registered as a paint. Previous owners said if I wanted to NOW, I could register her AQHA. This was 16 years ago when she was registered. So this is interesting. Thanks for posting, I wonder if it will be expensive?

Thanks.  I have a colt born this year that MAY have enough white to be double registered.  I kind of figured they  would start accepting cropouts again some day.

I wonder if my 2014 filly would qualify… she's a really loud rabicano and may possibly have sabino as well. huge belly spot and she has a random white splash on her hock..

That didn't work. The rule is on page 59 and 60 in the rulebook with a diagram of where the white has to be.  They are being more picky about how much and where the white has to be.
