Location: n.c. | He was a very big influence in the local/state/national NBHA shows. Always ready to lend a hand, great with the kids, wonderful at matching up a horse and rider and would give you the horse out from under him to ride if need be. Just an all around great person, wonderful horseman and phenomenal human being. You don't find many like him anymore. I'm just so glad I had the opportunity to meet him and call him friend. |

Location: NC | Scott never knew a stranger. I only knew him for a short time, but from the moment I met him, he was as nice as they come. He took the time to stop and speak to everyone at the shows. He hollered for everyone and had a signature "growl" during a good run. My husband (runningk's son) ran with Scott for years back when he was hauling a lot. We went to the first show at a brand new indoor arena in 2012 and that's where I met Scott. He and hubby picked up right where they left off years before. Ever since then, he always stopped to speak to us at a show. Always made you feel like you were "apart" of the crowd. He was always willing to help out at the shows and was a big part of many lives. He touched a lot of people in his short time here.
He will be greatly missed by MANY MANY people. One of a kind. They just don't make them like that very often. |

THANK YOU BHW!!! A Great Honor to A Great Friend & Horseman. Scott Kennedy touched so many lives in the barrel racing community, as well as, outside of horses. The turn out at his "Celebration of Life" Sunday was overwhelming and a true testament of how much he meant to so many. Scott & his Mom Glenda always made sure that if someone needed a horse to ride and they had one available, no one sat on the fence. So many youngsters that could have gone down different paths, stayed with Barrel Racing & grew into Winning Barrel Racers, through the influence and "never give up" lessons Scott taught them. He could always make you see the best of a not so great run, make you smile & look forward to your next barrel race. Scott never complained about the ground or where he drew up in the drag. He was grateful to be doing what he loved so much. A man who never drank or smoked. He shod horses all day & then came home and rode. Scott trained many nice colts over the years & was excellent at fixing problem horses. Scott, lived right, so quite the shock when he passed without any warning. Although We will always continue to miss Scott dearly, there is joy in the memories and continuing to see all those rising stars he helped, follow his footsteps into the Winners Circle, leaving a legacy that will live on. Rest In Peace, my Friend. |

| Scott was my farrior for the last 13 plus years. He was a great farrior and friend. My daughter always looked forward to him coming to trim the horses and give her a hard time. He had a way of always making trimming 10 horses fun. We will miss him greatly...he was a true friend. RIP |
