I have a filly being shipped over 800 miles. What can I do to help reduce the chance of colic or any other element when she arrives.

I've shipped several over 1500 and never had a problem.  Just hope the shipper stops halfway and gives her a break.

You can give a soupy bran mash with mineral oil in it. I've hauled many across the country and I stop every fuel fill up and offer water and refill hay.

I bought one recently that had been shipped long distance twice in a month....It was obvious he had ulcers when he arrived.  He was real quiet and depressed, only picking at his feed.  He's on Gastroguard for a month and after four days he has perked up and completely normal.  Shipping is stressful on one anyway, but even more so on a young one that has never been anywhere.  Gastroguard or Ulcerguard are a good idea for when she arrives.  It doesn't take long for ulcers to form.
