I rode with my first and ran my last rodeo with her at 7 months then just rode at home until she was born. The second i just rode at home, on my oldest daughters horse My feeling was i trusted him with Cheyannes life (and if your kids are riding you really are trust in that horse with your baby) so i trusted him with the baby i was carrying. With the third i had medical issues and it was not safe to ride so I did not ride at all, or any ground work. I just looked at them and petted them.

SC Wrangler - 2014-10-30 5:12 PM When you CHOOSE to become pregnant you accept responsibility for the life of one who cannot advocate in their own behalf.  Could you live with the consequences if another of your choices compromised the health or life of that precious gift?

LOL.  I did not choose to become pregnant, I slipped up.......

In my situation, I rode until 20 days before Kinsey was born and ran barrels until 7 months.......but in GTTTW's case, I think I have a different opinion.

Get your horse fix on the ground and take care of this kiddo that God decided to give you.  Ride your trusted ones and take care or yourself.  I am excited for this next generation sheep/dog/horse kid to get here.

I realize you have made your decision but wanted to share my experience.

I rode until September with my first baby who was bornin December.  I was not going to let having a baby change my life.   I was 27

My second (I was 32) I fell off a horse when I was six weeks along.  In my defense, I had been running the horse all summer.  A friend had been heeling on him and we decided to start heading on him.  The first steer I followed, when I asked for rate he stopped like a heel horse.  I had a concussion, broken ribs and bruises.

That is a real eye opened to what you have to protect when you are pregnant.

Congratulations by the way.

It was a hard decision to let my coming 3 yr old colt sit but I made the decision to not ride after 3 months. It has been sooo hard to not ride since I've been riding since I was a little kid. And to see my good colt just sit just makes me so irritated. I've never gone more than 3 months (due to winter weather) without riding. I'm 30, pregnant with first baby, due Nov 27th. I haven't had any balance issues and I probably could have rode until I couldn't get on the horse lol but so many things can happen, even on a dead broke horse.... personally it just wasn't worth the risk.

I know plenty of people who have kept riding until they were 6 or even 8 months. Just a personal decision like everything else.

Lots of walking, keeping up with chores around the barn/ranch, and prenatal workout dvds have kept me pretty fit.

Wishing you the best during the rest of your pregnancy!
