teehaha - 2014-11-07 2:23 PM  Well when the oxycontin and Percocet doesn't give me any relief from the pain and aching a couple of drags from the vapor pipe will allow me enough relief to get to and stay asleep.  There will always be those that abuse anything that's out there.

For those who find a need for pain relief, it's a God send!!  If me or mine needed it for pain relief, I'd be on my way to Colorado.  In a New York minute!

I suspect very few have ever suffered from the affect's of cancer or the chemo drugs they prescribe.   The pain med's prescribed kill the pain...for a while.  And make you so dopey you don't care if your dead or alive.
Plus, I've never heard of anyone over dosing on Marijuana.

Your always going to have one's who will abuse anything.  Whether it is food, alchole, marijuana or prescrition drugs.

Never say never, you don't know what you'll do when push comes to shove.

NJJ - 2014-11-07 1:16 PM Medicinal Marijuana is a JOKE.......all you end up with is "storefront" Doctors who prescribe it to anyone who walks in the door. I don't think legalizing it has solved any real problems or provided any incentive for legalization.
Exactly - thank you

I just wanted to clarify that I, in no way, meant that those who truly NEED the drug as a "medicine" should not have it......I am just referencing the debacle in CA that there are more people getting the drug "legally" for "medicine" that have NO need whatsoever for it......Because of "Storefront Doctors"

Legalize it period.

Look up "Reefer Madness" on youtube, propaganda at its finest and were still buying into it.

I work at an alcohol and drug treatment center and I will tell you that I am opposed to the legalization of marijuana.  I have spent a lot of time studing this topice and talked with people from CO about this.  Our governor approved for the use of medical marijuana oil in our state - it was not put out for vote.  Their is a mountain higher than Pikes Peak of problems with legalized marijuana.  As far as the medical marijuana, the long term effects have not been studied and it is not FDA approved.  The below is from a report out of CO concerning marijuana imparied traffic accidents.
Traffic fatalities in Colorado decreased 16 percent1, from 2006 to 2011, which is
consistent with national trends. During the same six years in Colorado, traffic
fatalities involving drivers testing positive for just marijuana increased 114
percent.2
• In 2006 in Colorado, traffic fatalities involving drivers testing positive for
marijuana represented 5 percent of the total traffic fatalities. By 2011, that
percent more than doubled to 13 percent.2
• In 2006, drivers testing positive for marijuana were involved in 28 percent of
fatal vehicle crashes involving drugs. By 2011 that number had increased to 56 percent

This is the link to the report which contains a lot of information on this.

Mommy50 was right on target with her post too.

It is certainly no the pretty picture some would have you believe.  Also, CO has not collected nearly the revenus they anticiapted by legalizing and taxing.  Most are still buying off the black market.  In my opinon the legalizing of marijuana in CO has been an epic failure.

I'm sorry... But if you expect me or anyone else to believe what The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) fact sheet says you're smoking something harder than weed. HIDTA was formed right in the middle of the failed War On Drugs in the 80s and is nothing more than a propaganda agency dreamed up in Washington DC. And as far as taxes goes, they would be collecting a lot more if these shops had to run their businesses through the banks, which they can't do because the banks won't touch them. They have to do EVERYTHING on a Cash Only-Basis.
