Location: North Dakota | I've bought from Teskeys, Weaver, and Riata Leather. I have no complaints with any of them. Smartpak's line of western tack looks really nice but I've never seen it in person. |

| It depends on what you are looking for.
If I am looking for quality but classy with little bling, I generally go to a friend who is a saddle maker and I design my own, a set still costs me 200-300 but I get an original and quality, one I have is 10 yrs old and still looks amazing.
I have looked up local tack makers and have tried to support them somewhat, generally when they are starting out they will be a little cheaper then the well established makers generally you can get nice quality sets with bling for under 400. Again you can create your own for as much or a little tooling and same with bling.
Alamo tack I have bought a few sets for under 200 they are nice sets, but the quality is not as good, some of my conchos have lost stones, and the leather is not as nice as say heritage brand.
I have learned if you want quality, you do pay for it. I have heritage brands that are 10 yrs plus that still look amazing. Back then it wasn't as expensive but I am currently in the process of putting the finishing touches on a design for another set. I think I own 6 sets of theirs. I don't mind spending the 800 for the set, as it will last me a life time. You can send back any of their sets for repairs and cleaning all it costs is the shipping. I sent one back as it lost a few crystals, when I got it back it looked brand new, the set was 10 yrs old and used daily.
My suggestion speak with your local tack makers first and see if they can build you something in your price range, if you want blingy, I suggest finding your own conchos and taking them to the tack maker |

I am not into much bling and we do not have any local tack makers. We usually have to buy something offline or from a big show where vendors are set up. It makes it really hard and not seeing something with my own two eyes or know the leather is nice quality. If anyone knows of their local saddle makers that make a good quality set, I am open to suggestions. |

She's a friend of mine and I own several items from her. She made my beaded tack set and I also have a wither strap, several nosebands, over/under, and a beaded hat band. She does GREAT work. I've done nothing to look after my beaded set and it still looks awesome. She's great to work with too and can make you anything you want. |

This. I got a set from them last year and I was very impressed with the quality. very thick and supple and for under $200... I don't like too flashy, this is the set I got.
