Location: God's country | Without seeing your mare I'm just going with a guess. I would guess she's stout made? Myself out of your choices I'd probably go with Perks Alive or Slick By Design. We are expecting a 2015 foal by Slick and the breeding manager told me he's 15.1. |

| I really like SBD, but I'd go with Perks Alive for your mare. |

Location: Northeast SD | Perks alive or Darkelly . Not sure it Kellies Chick's enormous height and stature is because of him or the dam's side but he has some good colts hitting the arena. |

Location: Kentucky | I would breed type to type. So I wouldn't breed a 16 hand horse to her since she is 14.1 hands. Not sure what the height of the studs you picked, but that's just my two cents. |

| Of your choices I like Slick by design then perks alive, in that order. Darkelly is overpriced. |

| Thank you all for your suggestions.
I like Perks Alive while my mother likes Slick by Design.
Perks Alive is 15.2 hands & Slick by Design is 15.1 hands tall.

Location: Where I am happiest | I dont buy in to the "Type to type" deal at all. The TB people started that a century ago but they were talking about dosages. Not breeding a sprinter dirt horse to a distant grass horse.Or you might end up with a dirt horse with no real speed or a grass horse with no staying power. Not physical type. Just because a mare is type x doesnt mean your stuck with a type x for generations! Horses have been bred forever to bring a better individual to the table. If a mare is short in height, and short coupled and thick made, the last thing I would breed her to is a short in height, short coupled thick made horse!! Nope. Why do you think Three Bars was so influential on the QH breed? Because he added refinement, reach, and height to the short cobby mares!! If you want a taller, reachier horse, you HAVE to breed to a taller reachier horse! |
