CPAs or Financial Advisors
My husband and I are needing some advice so that we can make the best decision for our 401k to IRA Rollover. It's a lot of information and somewhat complicated so if there are any CPAs or financial advisors that are willing to lend an ear, I'd sure appreciate it. Thank You!

I am a big fan of Dave Ramsey. We went through his financial class and it was very helpful. If you go to his web site, under tools there is a section for Endorsed Local Providers. It will give you names of professionals in your area. There are ELPs for different things
(Taxes, Real Estate, Insurance, Investing, etc
). We've used this and are pleased. Just a thought, hope it helps.

Location: Slipping down the slope of old age. Boo hoo.
We talked with our CPA, researched local area financial advisory services and then made appointments to meet those advisors that we were interested in to interview them. We also got references regarding advisors. We did all of this prior to retirement in order to have the advisor help us make the best "plan" for our investments and overall situation. We moved our Money Market early on and the advisor helped us define our goals and work toward them...when husband retired he rolled his 401k into the IRA he already had with this advisor. We went with a well known company instead of a small individual type -- we went with Raymond James. We only wish we had began working with an advisor in our 20s..... we are in a great place financially, but having advisory assistance early on would have been better. We did lots of research and talked with people we knew who were experienced in money matters -- people we respected and who were known for their money savvy -- as well as talking with our banker and CPA. The advisor we selected came with great references and he took an entire appointment to talk about our personal goals --- our plans for retirement - what we wanted to be able to do -- when we wanted to retire, etc. He was very helpful by asking us great thoughtful questions that made us really think about what we wanted to be able to do and helped us devise a plan to get there! And now - here we are - husband retired before age 65 and I will retire in three more years at age 62.
