I know with it being winter, nothing is really "selling" but I have a few broodmares that are paid to be bred in 2015 for 2016 foals and I want to downsize. Should I post them now or wait until they are bred? I was thinking wait because most don't want to jack with actually having them bred but man if I could get rid of some now LOL That being said, how/ where have you had the most luck selling broodies?

I wanna know too! If I don't take the trade for mine I'm going to need to adjust my strategy. Lots of people interested but none actually show up!

Are they open or in foal now? It's tuff because if they are open, it raises a eyebrow as to why she's open. If you sell them bred, you will weed out some buyers if they are bred to a sub par so so horse. I think I would list now while open and give them the option of collecting that breeding, or not and if she hasnt sold by spring then collect that breeding. Adjusting the price.

List them NOW! Breeding season is quickly approaching. Be willing to sell them WITHOUT the breedings you have. Even if you end up with more paid breedings than you have mares. Many people want to pick the stallion for themselves. OR, they have a stallion and have no use for a breeding to someone elses stallion. If you really want to sell them, don't force a buyer to pay for a breeding they don't want, just to get the mare.
