Been a while since I've been there, I know Church Hill Downs but what else? Restaurants? Fun things to do? Going this weekend...

Cardinal Hall of Fame Cafe pretty close to Church Hill Downs is excellent!  We ate there twice when we went a couple of summers ago.  I highly recommend.  It's just a casual restaurant with an atmosphere along the lines of Chilis or Applebee's with similar type food.  We enjoyed our meal so much the first time that we went back again before leaving town.

I don't think there will be much going on at Churchill Downs this weekend. You can still go to the Museum and maybe take some tours but I don't  think there are even any horses there right now. They use to go to the training center and train during the winter months.

Are you going to the Farm Machinary show?

Where are you staying? I can give you some awesome places to eat and visit. What do you like to eat?

Churchill is not running, but the museum is open. That would be a great place to visit. Louisville Slugger is awesome, and right across the street is the Louisville Science Museum, that place is pretty darn neat. Tons of good bars in the area too. Just give me an idea of what you guys like.

Yes, we are! My husband is for work and I'm tagging along, not much on the show so plan to do other things. We're staying at the Brown Hotel!

I sent you a PM.

4th Street is great for tourists. As a "local" I don't really go there that much unless it's to grab something to eat. The bar at St. Charles Exchange was rated to have the best cocktails in Louisville. REALLY unqiue food there also. Check out their website, it's a neat place. They makes a KILLER Old Fashioned :) If you are a bourbon lover, check out Whiskey Row downtown, lots of distilleries have stores that show off their products. It's a really neat experience. You cannot come to Louisville without trying bourbon!!

Yes she does! And she is VERY sweet! I met her at the Henderson county fair barrel show a few years ago. Im racking my brain trying to think of other things to see there that haven't been mentioned. It's too bad Churchill isn't running races right now, going to a race at Churchill downs is unlike any other racetrack! Totally different atmosphere!

I've had WAY too much fun there during the Farm machinery Show!!! I'm a little sad to miss it! That and the Gin show in Memphis are a lot of fun!!!

One of the coolest things is under the city of Louisville. Most people don't know that there is an extensive tunnel system all under the city. They have started to commercialize it some now and you can go for tours and restauants under the city.

Look for the Louisville Mega Cavern and Lights Under Louisville. There's even an underground zip line. While they call it a cavern it's actually all manmade. It's an old limestone mine. You can go 100 ft under the city.
Best steakhouse is subjective but we love Pat's.

Pat's is good. If you go, it's cash only.

Another really neat place to eat is at the top the Galt House Hotel. It's called Rivue. You actually sit on a rotating floor so you can see all angles of the river while you are eating. It's a really neat experience.

We were there in October for the FFA National Convention. We stayed at the Galt Hotel. We did the Kentucky Derby tour which was fun as we got to watch some races, did the Louisville Slugger museum. 4th street was fun. We ate at Hard rock as that's where the kids choose. Wasnt the best. We also ate at the spaghetti factory. It was great! Can't wait for this year!!
