| My friend went on a cruise and I was asked to take care of her little dog. I'm saying LITTLE... My friend has always given her people food which is fine with me I'll feed your dog anything you want to pay for. She's not eating anything. Any ideas what could entice her to eat? Should I use a syringe and force feed her electrolytes?
The morning after my friend left the dog had a bad butt. I got her washed up and got some pepto bismal into her, but havent' seen her drink or eat anything.
I was thinking maybe taking her outside to use some energy and maybe she would drink and eat. I don't think she needs a vet yet. Would like to avoid it if I can get a little insight from some of you. |

Location: NE Texas | Chicken broth or canned food? Milk or sandwich meat? My dogs love all of that stuff, but my dogs will eat anything that doesn't eat them first. Good luck! |

She's been fed people food like chicken breast and steak (hey if my friend wants to feed her better than I eat who am I to talk ). I did buy some canned dog food hoping that would maybe make her eat. |

Location: Louisiana | She is probably missing her mommy. How long has it been since she's eaten? I would keep a close eye on her and if she seems dehydrated or anything tke her to the vet. My dog will go a day or two without eating if I have to leave him somewhere other than "his" home. Even with me, he won't always eat on a trip. I took him to a couple rodeos with me last year and he didn't eat the entire weekend. Is she at your house with you? Maybe you could take her to her house for a little while. |

| I had her at her house and she didn't seem any better. I really think she is missing her mom. But don't want to anything to happen to her on my watch. |

Location: Montana | We take our dog to our vet when we leave for vacation (he is a personal friend besides a vet) and he won't eat for a day or two after we leave. We've tried taking him with us before on overnight trips, but he hates to travel even worse and won't eat then either. I don't know how long your friend has been gone, but I'm guessing the little dog is in mourning thinking her mommy left her or something. If it has been more than 2 days or so, I would be worried, but if this has been the first day, not so much.
Also, our dog loooovvveeess cookies...human cookies. He'll do almost anything for a cookie. Just food for thought, LOL.

Location: Kansas | the pet store sells those "all natural" foods in the fridge area. You just cut so much off and put it back in the fridge. I buy them every once in awhile and my dogs gobble them up. |

| After we went for the morning "Walk" she came in and ate what my dogs eat and drank a bunch of water... Great I won't be as worried about her now. |
