Who is this Doug you girls speak of? And what products are you using for ulcer maintenance?
I will also say, I recently spent $100 on girl who specializes in Equine Nutrition. She gave me a detailed feed plan for each horse as well as went through and told me why I am feeding it and what to look for in bagged feeds. Best $100 I ever spent.

ndiehl - 2015-02-13 11:17 AM Yep and Rolling Acres is produced in the same mill at least in our area. I know TSC here in Northern Ontario only offers those 2 products. My Co-op isn't much better, it's pretty much just masterfeed products. To the OP, I see you live about the same distance as I do from the US boarder (about an hour). I spoke with the boarder and the import agency (I forget the exact name) and got a list of feeds I could bring across and chose one. I would go over twice a month and bring back some, when I needed it. Call and speak to a rep at the boarder and I forget who they will put me in contact with to discuss which I could. It's another option if your like me and hate the choices. I also hear Renew Gold is hopefully here soon and I am excited about that. Right now I use whole oats, Hoffman's minerals and home grown timothy/grass hay; they all look amazing. I don't have any that need weight and I haven't had a lot of time to train/compete; so I haven't went over for a bit and they change the list regularly and add to it. I suggest calling though if your into that. ETA: This was supposed to be a reply to Mruggles post about Masterfeeds. I will also say everyone in Alberta seems to have a lot more of a selection then we do in Ontario, I have had to do some looking into it here. I also would love to get THE minerals but understand that sometimes the eastern part of the country has a harder time to import it.

if we were close to the border you can bet i would be getting stuff from the us..but we are 8 hours from the border......so i just take the arse kicking on shipping on the little bit i do order...........

I go down to Kalispell at least 4 times a year and load up on dewormers and other stuff from Murdochs but bringing horse feed back into Canada without horses is a big no no, according to CBSA when I got stopped at the border with it (they didn't confiscate it but got a big warning). If you went down for a jackpot or rodeo and brought stuff back, you'd be fine. And it all depends which border crossing you go to too.

Th at is why I called and spoke with people, got the information and paperwork I needed to get it. I bring a lot across (wormer, wound care, etc) when I head over and if I order something online I usually get it shipped to a parcel depot right at the boarder in Michigan that is a destination for Canadians to ship too and bring it across myself. It saves a lot on shipping and depending on the cost I just pay the little bit of duty (usually that's factored into shipping plus some). I go across at the Sault Ste Marie boarder which is 9 times out of 10 pretty good and fast with no lines, but I know the OP has a choice of which she could choose both around an hour away. I would personally go to Sarina's since it's not usually as busy and the people are more willing to work with you. Windsor isn't fun and you have longer waits on top of it. Even to bring horses across. I just make sure I claim items and do my research on what you can and can't get.

Doug is a board buddy, duglas j gordon I believe is his name that had ulcer cure otc. I don't know if it's still available or not as I believe there was an issue with it and they had to reformulate? People can correct me if I'm wrong.
