| Legend works great for older horses. Adequan works better on younger horses. |

 Gotta Have a Gray

Location: Tex. Panhandle | i was told by a vet that legend only stays in the system for 72 hours. Adequan is suppose to have a longer lasting effect depending on how it is given. |

| Never have tried legend but adequan works wonderful on my gelding with terribly bad hocks. He's 10 and has been getting it once a month since he was 6. It took place of him needing injections (which he only had once before trying adequan) |

| Adequan, kept my arthritic gelding sound every month. Legend did nothing. My vet jokes that Adequan is liquid gold. |

| According to my vet ^^ this^^
For muscle injections, I use Chondroprotec upon the same vet's advice and prescription.
edited to add: The first horse I ever had injected over 20 years ago went through a series of Adaquan shots and they helped him not at all. Everyone/horse is different.

Location: Bastrop, Texas | I think they compliment one another. I've been giving both to my 20 year old gelding and he's still running real well. I decided to stop injecting him about 4 years ago and went to this instead. I did switch from Adequan to Pentosan, because I heard many people say it is a good, less expensive replacement. Because I give my horse the meds as a preventative, I can't honestly say they are "effective", but I have a feeling they are worth the expense. My gelding hasn't been lame since I've owned him the last 8 years. |

I used and loved Adequan for years until it got so difficult to buy--had wonderful results on horses and dogs both. I tried chondroprotec once and was not happy at all. My vet recommended trying Pentosan and I finally bought some and started it last week. My horse felt so good 3 days after his first shot, I thought he was going to kill me. LOL |
