Who's been? What can you tell me? There is one about 20 minutes from my house I'm thinking of going to.
Are her clinic better for a green horse or a finished one?

I have hosted a clinic at our house and friends of ours are hosting one here in two weeks that we are signed up for again. Cayla came with Jane to our clinic and they both did an amazing job. I was very happy with how the weekend went, and I felt like everyone learned a lot and went home with the knowledge and information to continue to improve. We had a wide range of skill levels at our clinic, from a 2 time IPRA champion down to a 6 year old junior rodeo member. Jane and Cayla were great at being able to work with this wide range of skills and it never seemed like anyone was sitting around without something to learn or do. If you have the opportunity to go to one, I highly recommend it. We will have her back again, she and Cayla were great role models for our girls and gave our girls and me lots of inspiration and information to keep us growning and learning.

A friend went and she took a green horse and they were VERY helpful on that, I think that with their experience with both finished and futurity horses they can really help anyone any skill level as well as any horse skill level. I would highly recommend going. They took their time with each of the people as well.

My daughter and I have been to many. She is 13 and has gone to 2 a year since she was anout 6. Every clinic is different as far as what she learns because she's always changing with her growing. We too have been to clinics with a wide variety of skill/experience and everyone always learns a ton. Ryan is awesome too, my daughter is always happy when he is there. Cayla and Jane are wonderful and great competitors. Highly recommend a Jane Melby clinic. Green or finished horses it doesn't matter. If you have a finished 1d horse they are great at finding a few more tenths in a horse/rider combination.

I went to an abbreviated version of a clinic (it was only 4 hours), but it was super helpfpul nonetheless.

I brought my 3-year-old colt who I hadn't even loped the pattern on yet, because my Red needs injections and I'm not about to do it in the middle of winter. I would say my experience of the short clinic was much more suited to a finished barrel horse, but I definately learned many things and she helped me with a few things with my colt as well. We even loped the pattern by the end of the 4-hour session!

If it's only 20 minutes from your house ... you HAVE to go!!!

What about someone who is new to barrel racing. She rides with me but I'm better at doing then telling. Would it benefit her?

It benefits the beginner as well as those who need some fine tuning.

I went to one a few years ago. She is very good with helping with your riding. She really stressed body position and hand position during a run. Her clinics are definatly worth going to.

I audited one last spring (was supposed to ride and tore my knee up a couple days before) and am planning to ride at one this spring. I'm really excited! At the one I audited, there were riders from beginner youth to pro level and everything in between, and I thought she worked really well with all of them. I did think it seemed like it would be more beneficial with a finished horse. For anyone who is having trouble switching from "trainer" mode over to "jockey" mode, I think it would a huge game changer.
