By virtue of the fact that some people do qualify more than one time and can only have one place in the short round, additional short round positions can open up to people that don't place in the long gos. I got back to the short go because of this last year and ended up picking up a pretty decent check. |

They ran each D as one separate race. The 2D shoot out winner and 2nd place was actually faster than the whole 1D shoo out race this year. A long time ago NBHA used to do it this way for finals but no one likes it because it confines you to a D even if you ran the fastest time of the day.
If you qualified two back you could run two but you had to run them in the D race they qualified for. |

Are you talking about the OKC Summer Shootout?
Jackie Ganter won the BBR 1D with a 15.192 and Jackie Jatzlau won the 2D with a 15.7
However,
The OKC Summer Shootout 1D was won by Joy Wargo and I do believe that Nikki Cain ran a faster time, but was confined to the 2D. |

Yeah the BBR is all one race where as the OKC shootout is not...
I qualified in the 4D for the finals last year and placed in the 2D in the finals... at BBR |
