What do you usually use? Obviously it depends on the situation, but I'm asking about the majority of the time. Your head or you heart in the decisions you make? Logic or emotion? Just curious. And no, alcohol is not an an option right now ;) lol

Honestly normally logic. Not always, it's been a newer thing with me and an influence of my fiancΓ© who is a biologist. Having said that however, we both used our hearts when we got the news that my mare had kidney and bladder stones and to take her home and put her down when the pain got too bad. I begged Dave to at least let me try alternative practices with her because if I tried nothing my her chances were 0. He looked at the same thing I did, CC meeting me at the gate with the usual fire in her eyes, ready to take on the day and he learned what deciding something with your heart means when your head and medicine say it can't be done. I didn't realize how much it had gotten to his heart either until after CC's bladder stone removal 6 months later, apparently he had told the vet that CC deserved to be given every chance at a quality life and if the lithrotripsy surgery wasn't a success, to go in abdominally and get that stone out.

I lay the facts out in my mind as I understand them...then I pray for wisdom...then I go with whatever direction gives me peace in my heart. Hope that helped.

Well said. Usually logical. Heart if animals are involved.

It depends on the money involved. I am a giver and a donator (to good causes) but I also won't throw money away on a lost cause.

Logic and my mother to be completely honest.

I'm a huge fan of the pro and con list which can and usually does include some of the emotional sides but laid out in a way that I can logically look at. I then call my mom and bounce things off of her, I am so very thankful to have a mama who shares her wisdom and life experiences with me! Somebody who can fill that older adult mentor roll is the best way to figure things out IMO. Going about things this way usually brings me to a decision I am most at peace with like CrossCreek said.

OMG... I sound like a crackhead!!!
Simple short version, head 90% of the time but sometimes you have to listen to your heart.

I sometime come off cold hearted but I usually use my head. If it is not feasible money wise, or logic wise then I have my answer. I do however am one to put my pride and reputation over anything else and have learnt over the last few years that following what your heart wants to do isn't always the best. I am also lucky to have very level headed and smart parents so often come to them with advise. I also have learnt to take a step back and a few minutes before making any kind of crazy decision. What you feel and think in the heat of the moment isn't always the right move. Take a minute and re group. Good Luck with whatever you are going through

When I listen to my gut, really listen to it, and not what I WANT it to say, I'm usually right.
