Location: Florida | I had my nice custom halter & fairly new (within 6 months) PHT stolen right out of my trailer IDK when it was, I just know it was there on the way to and at the beginning of a barrel race, my dad had come with me and loaded her up for me while I went up to the booth and when I unloaded her she didn't have her halter or blanket on. All fine and good, I assumed he just didn't grab the right one or blanket her, but when I went looking for them THEY WERE GONE! SO frustrated to finally splurge, having a new young family it's hard to convince myself to come off the money in the first place, waited for my halter, it was exactly what I wanted and to have someone else JUST TAKE THEM. I know I shouldn't dwell, but somewhere out there someone's horse is wearing MY PHT that I paid for ON their horse, free and clear and now my girl doesn't have any magnetics and some cheapo slime ball's horse does. Not that I wish bad on the horse... My halter had my BRAND ON IT... I mean come on.

| Keep an eye out for your halter at all horse events. My sister had a bridle stolen at a rodeo. She had a irreplaceable bit on it. A year later at a roping she saw it on a horse. She walked up and took it off the horse. The guy gets mad and yells at her and she told the bridle/bit were stolen at such and such rodeo a year ago and if he wasn't the one who stole then whoever eve got it from stole it. He never said a word back. |

| I used to leave the tack door on the trailer open all the time, truck unlocked, keys in the ignition, etc. But no more. Everything is locked... Might not do it at little local shows where everyone knows everyone, but the bigger races, no way. |

Location: Oklahoma | I'm so sorry about your loss. That really sucks! Atleast if you see the halter you will know it was yours! Can you file a police report and if the items ever show up have the people charged? How does that work?? I bought a 2" hot brand that I'm waiting on... I will be branding EVERYTHING. Might not deter anyone, but I will know my stuff when I see it. |

Me too! I've always done that, I'm kicking myself now because A- it was a fairly local show (2 NBHA districts), and B- the halter was just hanging on the trailer, (as usual) because I'd switched to our bridle! Grrr... I'm having a small brand built too :) And the first thing to get it is the YETI! haha |

| Local meth heads here, watch and wait for horse events. If the area you were in is like my area, it's not a 100% certantity that your goods were stolen by a contestant. |

| Well that sure stinks. How frustrating, a shame we have to keep everything locked up. |

It's very sad, but true. It will never be the same as it use to be. You can't hardly trust but a handful of people these days.
If I were you, I would make a Facebook post about the stolen items. Where I live, word travels fast, especially the bad, and Lord knows everyone has a Facebook. |
