We live in S. Ga and the flies have already started! Has anyone had any luck with the feed thru flu controls? If so what kind.

I have known people to put garlic powder in on top on feed to repel flies and it has seemed to work well. Smart Pak also has a fly control feed thru supplement that is supposed to work well.

following ... i used garlic but it did not work for my guys .. the company credited me my money and let me keep the product. I also do fly predators but I still have flies...must be doing something wrong. Looking into the feed through as well...

I tried feeding garlic but had a hard time getting my horses to accept the full dose amount. I was up to feeding 2 Tlbs twice per day but they were really turning their noses up and not finishing their feed so I quit using it.
(I don't feed much "feed".
) I've got almost a full container of it if someone wants to give it a try. Just pay for the shipping. PM me if interested.

I've used Simplifly for years with good results. You have to start before flys come in the spring for the best results. It is the same as Equitrol. Even if the flys are there, it will help. You will definatley know when you run out. They hatch every 7 days.

United Vet Equine
(MVP-Exceed 6-way
) makes one called Flies-A-Way
They added Diatomaceous Earth to help prevent fly larvae from hatching in the manure.
Active Ingredients are:
Diatomaceous Earth
Brewers Yeast
MSM
Garlic
DL-Methionine
Apple Cider Vinegar
Thiamine
N-Acetyl Cysteine

I am not sure in your area, but I was under the impression that it mainly only effected the blood sucking flies like Horn flies with the feed through. Only flies that layed eggs in the manure. I am not sure that it works for a house fly.
But I do not know for sure so maybe we will get some more responses.
Also that the life cycle of a fly is short but it takes a couple of weeks to see results.
