| What do ya'll like? Between the different brands and sizes (full, semi) what do you think in your experience fits the best? Especially if you plan to use on multiple horses?
Also, I think there was a thread on here before about cinch size but I can't find it. What was the general consensus on that, 30 something or another?
Thanks in advance, as always! |

| Honestly, there isn't one.
Now if you prefer a particular style of horse, a certain build etc you may get lucky and find a saddle that fits all your horses. But Ive been through the wringer over the last couple years with saddles and have tried a lot of different saddles on a lot of different horses (mostly friends trying mine, me trying theirs etc) and there hasn't been a silver bullet for all of them, or even most of them.
Tree sizes like semi full etc are good as junk since there isn't a standard size. I swear we would be 1000x's better off if we'd learned to talk in bar angles vs gullet widths, or if all makers would stamp the actual tree measurements on the saddle since once the tree is covered you cannot get accurate measurements. |

| Ah I was just wish'n & hope'n there was something out there that has proved to be somewhat consistent. But I know you're right. If the manufacturers would just stick to similar measurements that would be a great start!
It really is just as bad as a woman trying on cowboy boots! |

Location: Where the pavement ends and the West begins Utah | Semi quarter horse is for the smaller narrow built in the front horse/pony cross like a welsh or arab. Quarter horse bars fit the smaller wider breeds like a poa. Then you have the full quarter horse bars that fit horses that tend to be a bit wide and the thoroughbred. the full fit a large majority of horses out there. then you have the wide that fits larger horses that have heavier build. but like people finding that right pair of jeans will take days so will a saddle. |

| Thanks cow pie. Generally I ride either QH or TB around 15 hands. I wasn't sure if they'd be considered a full or semi. I was under the impression most barrel horses (maybe the ones under 15? Or particularly high withered) are semi, but I'm starting to think that's not the case. |

PREACH IT!! I don't understand why this is so hard for saddle companies to do. It would make every customer happy! |

Location: Piedmont, OK | For me it just depends on the horse and what fits them best. I have a treeless by Tammy Fischer that I love but use it for only a couple of horses. I have a gelding with really high wither that it does not fit him right at all. |
