It all depends on the structural make up of your trailer. Depending on the brand is how far the side posts are apart from each other. I would recommend contacting the manufacturer to see if it is possible without compromising the structural integrity of your trailer. Also, depending on how old the trailer is, you may void warranties if you do this.

Yes I have - we have a 1991 4 star that had a home made living quarter in it - about 7 years ago I took it to a guy who use to work for one of the nicer conversation companies and started a shop of is own. I very seldom haul a horse in the front hole and wanted a door. He could not make a metal one but it is a wood door that is solid not hollow. We do haul some every now and then in that hole and am always worried they could do damage but so far it has not happened. Glad I did it but I haul by myself mostly and it works great for me.

Sent mine to a welding shop and they were able to order the walk through door from elite and installed it.

mine is a featherlite, 2002, and i want to put one in from the bathroom to the first stall. my guy is a welder, but he doesnt do alot of work with aluminium. but he can. he's build me a hay rack for my old trailer and a ladder for this one, cant tell it didnt come
I was thinking about ordering a door and letting him do it.
how much would a door cost me?

I had a trailer place do mine. I was able to buy a door that someone else ordered and never used, I paid $900 for the door and $300 for installation
(along with some other work
). If I would have purchased the door without it being "used" it would have been $1200.
I recommend letting a trailer place do it - it was alot more to it than I thought.
