I have tried both. BOT did NOTHING for me. PHT i can curl up in the blanket and about 20 mins later everything starts to relax. love PHT. definitely worth the extra!

I've always wondered how exactly a blanket made for certain points on a horse works for a human just 'curling up' in it.

How does that work? Is there just some magnetic field thing going on or what? Just confused how that works. I always thought the points on the blankets had a purpose. Each one was supposed to be over a certain acupuncture or pressure point

I honestly don't have an answer for you! Yes i agree they are to sit just right on a horse. Proper fit . With that said i have a lot of pain in my body from too many accidents. I do not sleep well at all. I have tried about everything out there for pain management and I really feel like the pht blanket with the magnets gave my body a break so to speak. It seems like everything slowly relaxs. My muscles and tendons are constantly pulling. I have a lot of arthritis from broken bones and bone spurs. I do not sell either of the products. So i am not looking for financial gain with my experience of the blankets

I sleep on my PHT blanket. I have deep hip pain that nothing helps except the blanket.

Thanks for all of the great advice!  With the exception of about 2 months out of the year, it's usually not too warm here to use either product. I'm not the type to just leave things on in the pasture, either, because I'm afraid somebody would get hung up on something.  In my research I heard of Benefab, but have not looked into it...maybe I will more! Thanks agian!

I have used both. I completely understand as to how they both work; and in turn, work differently.  I got my two PHT blankets and leg wraps, poll wrap, and bell boots in (I think) 2003. I am still using them....extremely durable. I love the way they work and have used them myself. I can see a difference.

Even though I'm a barrel racer, I boarded at a hunter/jumper/eventing barn. They swore by BOT. So, I tried the saddle pad and splint boots last summer.  I didn't like them at all and saw no difference. The splint boots kept coming undone while working with any small amount of sweat; and frankly, seemed cheap in their construction.

So, I guess I am a huge supporter of PHT. The products are very durable and really work...very well worth the money.

I must say I'm not a fan of BOT. I've tried them and never saw a difference. I do, however, believe in the PHT. I was skeptical about them. I ordered a magnacu blanket. It never made it out of my house. I wore it around the house and could feel the change. I have a bad knee and bad hip and after about 10 minutes under the blanket I started to feel tingly and relaxed. I also have 3 poll packs. My gelding is very nervous and scared but I've noticed him relaxing while tied to the trailer with the poll pack on. I will be buying more PHT items!

I have both and think they both work. Chance and Joker love the Back on Track products, but Clifford is a big fan of PHT so I keep a sheet & 2 pairs of 3-n-1 wraps around for him. Chance and Joker are my two older, more experienced horses so they tend to have more chronic aches and pains and I think the BOT products are great for stuff like that. Joker licks his lips when I put a BOT sheet on him but the PHT sheet gets no reaction from him. Both Chance and Joker seem to warm up better after wearing BOT sheets, and the quick wraps will keep Streak's back legs from stocking up. Cliff will chase you down for his PHT sheet so he has only worn the BOT sheet a couple times. I figure if he likes PHT so much I'll stick with it for him.
I think it is a personal preference which brand you choose, but the good thing is they both hold their value so if its not getting results, you can sell it and buy the other. I had a PHT sheet several years ago and didn't see magical results with Chance so I sold it and later bought BOT for him, which seems to be more what he responds to.

ETA - I have used my PHT 3-N-1 wraps on an injured knee and after just a couple hours I felt significantly better. Matt is trying a BOT knee brace and t-shirt to alleviate some soreness from riding bucking horses and so far I think he really likes the knee brace. My brother has a mare with an old bowed tendon who wears a PHT 3-n-1 wrap 24/7 and it has helped her a ton. The vet wasn't sure she'd come back to be sound even for trail riding but after we stopped using DMSO on the leg and put a PHT wrap on it, she really started moving better. I just hope I can stumble onto a bargain on another PHT wrap before she completely destroys the one she's wearing. LOL.

I think it really depends on exactly what your horse has going on. I have not tried PHT, but have the BOT quick wraps and hock wraps for my gelding. He's 17, and is starting to have some arthritis issues. Especially when it's cold out, he seems so much more comfortable if he has a little warm-up time with the BOT while I'm brushing and saddling.

Same here... haven't tried PHT, but use the BOT knee boots on my old guy with arthritic knees, only while trailering and at overnight races b/c he is not stalled at home. I can see a big difference! He warms up faster, his stride is smoother, etc. I would love the BOT wraps, but just use a regular standing wrap with them.

I also use the BOT saddle pad liner for my cold-backed horse. I do think it helps him, but hard to prove considering I've been trying to train him through it too. At least my saddle pad stays clean! lol!

I love BOT.  I have quick wraps for all four legs, hock boots and the mesh sheet.  It helped my gelding tremendously while he was healing from a suspensory injury and he gets extremely relaxed when he hears me unvelcroing the quick wraps.  I've never seen anything like it.

I only have a PHT poll pack and I don't think I've used it enough to try and tell a difference, but I am saving my money for a sheet so I can use this summer when it's warm and don't want to use the BOT sheet.

So now I have a question. My horse was diagnosed w/ kissing spine today which is causing a lot of muscle soreness around the areas that are "kissing". My vet mentioned getting a BOT sheet, but I'm trying to decide if that or the magnacu would be more beneficial. I'd like to save up for both but it'll take a while.

I love BOT for my horse's back soreness. However, my horse's back pain was from ill fitting saddles, not kissing spine. The sheet allowed me to lightly ride him until I found a saddle that fit him. I used the BOT before I rode and he was always had a swinging walk and picked up his leads. If I forgot, none of those things happened. I also used my old Norfield's magnetic sheet on him after I rode. I don't use them now because I was able to fix my problem. I would definitely use them again and try them for kissing spine.
