What brands of barrel saddles do you like for narrower built quarter horses? I need to find one that fits my gelding well. I'm riding him in an old roping saddle with semi-qh bars right now because it fits him the best of what I have...while it fits me, it just doesn't ride like a barrel saddle. :) Thanks in advance!

ETA: I did one of those card-board cut-out things from online to see what bars he is, and according to that he should be Semi-QH bars, and of what I have that seems to fit him. I've had a Double J Pro tree on him with a 6 3/4" gullet, and that doesn't fit him, although it is slightly better than my Courts, which is FQHB...but for now I'm sticking with the old rope saddle.

I adore my Lynn McKenzie saddles. The Special might interest you. Google Lynn McKenzie's saddle fit videos and see what you think.

I have a special that does not fit my narrow mare at all. My billy cook/bronco billy's saddles fit her better.

I just purchased a TG for my cutting bred mare.
All I can say is I wish I had done it sooner.
These saddles are soooo comfortable and you sit so well, I will be buying another one.

I love my TG also. Fits my mare great and is super comfy. Had a friend try it and she fell in love with it. Fit her mare awesome.

I had a LM special and it didn't fit my narrower horse. I have a Meleeta Brown barrel saddle now. Her new tree fits my narrower built horse great. She is great to work with and has a demo program.

Thanks for the tips! I'd like to try a Caldwell if I can find one used.
How do ya'll feel about flex tree or treeless saddles for narrower horses?

I use a pozzi standard tree on my ottb. I need to shim it a bit in the front but she's only 5 and not done growing... it fits everywhere else.

I agree with the Caldwells, I love how it fits my gelding I have a Pro Max, but also if you can find a older Martha Josey {not a new one but older} they seem to fit the narrower built horses pretty good. I had one that I loved but sold it, now I kick myself for selling it, I keep checking the ads hoping one day I will find it for sell so I can buy it back.
