How bad of a deal is that for future soundness. It's pretty mild, I'm just wondering what experiences others have had?

In the horses we have had , no issues at all.. with proper farrier he knows how to tend to them to keep them sound.. ours have exceeded in our sport with no lameness issues from it and have had several.. maybe some others will chime in..

If your horse was your kid ... you would think nothing of it ..
just put some good quality combo boots on his front legs everytime you ride and
go have fun ..
Have you ever watched how people walk??
and not a one of them are concerned about it
lol

The Old Cowboys say a horse that toes out is a sign of speed.. As long as your farrier doesn't try to "make" the foot straight, you shouldn't have any problems.

^^^^ THIS do not let a farrier try and "fix" it

Have a 13yr old mare tha toes out really bad on her right front. She has run good and solid for 8 year with correct balanced shoeing, good leg care, and having kept her in good shape.
