Subject: Fusing hock

Location: North Dakota		 So I had my mare's hock x-rayed today and her distal intertarsal joint is fusing. The vet said they wouldn't be able to get a needle in that joint. What are some options to help her with pain while she is fusing? Just put her on an anti-inflammatory like Previcoxx? Would injecting the lower joint help? I already have her on Pentosan Gold.
