Do any of you ride in longsleeve shirts with UV protection? I live in Arizona and I do like to ride during the day when it's not too hot but I'm really looking for some long sleeve T-shirts that will keep me cool and protect me from the sun. Are there any brands that you guys like?

I think rodeomom3 is the one who says that she runs in the fishing shirts in the summer.... I bought two and I keep one in my truck at all times to throw over a tank top when I ride.  They're great!  I wear the Columbia brand ones, but hope to expand my collection this summer!

I rode in a dirtbike jersey last spring/summer. Worked great to keep the mosquitoes off me :) I don't know about UV protection but it kept me pretty cool!

I LOVE the long sleeve sunscreen shirts! That's all I ride in during the summer. They are honestly a lot cooler than t shirts etc. They have venting and keep me much more comfortable. Not getting a sunburn is important too.

The fishing shirts by Columbia are great...but pricey. I get those when on sale. Otherwise I buy the bass pro World Wide Sportsman brand or Magellan that they sell at Academy. They are just as good but much less in price. They do also have these shirts with BugShield. But I haven't gotten any of those yet. They need to be on sale.

One other aspect for summer barrel races is that you can get ones that look like a nice long sleeve western shirt...but are sunscreen and MUCH cooler...and don't wrinkle.

I wear the EIS shirts. They're more English riding and have a HUGE following but they're UV protectant and they have mesh that allows air flow

Dicks sporting goods usually has a really good selection. Love those shirts! I especially love not having a soaking wet shirt after I ride!

When my husband worked as a cowboy in Freer, Tx area in the summers, he always wore a cotton t-shirt and long sleeved khaki cotton shirt. To this day that is what he wears. He always swears that wearing the cotton t was cooler than not wearing it. My son is a welder and he wears a t-shirt under his welding shirts. Sounds crazy to me, but they swear by it

Thanks for the replies! As a fair skinned person, I really think I need to invest in a few of these! Appreciate the brand name suggestions, gives me an idea of what to look for and where.

Don't wear chambry if you are going out in the sun for more than an hour or so, my brother is fair skinned and working cattle one day, his back sunburned through his shirt!

Get the shirts designed for offshore fishing.  It gets ridiculously HOT on the boats when we go off shore, especially when shade is limited.  The fishing shirts not only protect from the sun, but you don't get nearly as hot.  We now live in MO but still use those shirts all the time.

Duluth Trading Company has some really nice ones that wick moisture away and aren't too expensive.
