Did you try to treat it or leave it alone?

I had a horse that had this and it's a pita. The vet I talked to said there really wasn't anything that could be done to treat it.

I have an older gelding that has a pretty large plaque in his left ear. I decided not to mess with it as it doesn't affect his soundness to be ridden. He's very sensitive about his ears though, and I do unhook the bit from his head stall and bridle him that way instead of sliding it over his ears.
