Location: MD | I had a daughter of Hot Colours in the broodmare band for a number of years. She was a pretty cool mare. Built rather well, but had a HC head. She was a bit of a worry wort, but I may attribute that to her past, as she never passed that on to any of her foals. She was a very gritty mare, with a ton of heart and a bit intense. Every foals we had out of her was pretty correct and rather easy to start. |

| My trainer had a daughter of Hot Colours. She was so blown up when my trainer purchased her but trainer is really good at working with problems. The competition around here --- NE TX --- is about as tough as it gets. I have seen my trainer be the only one in the 1D. The mare developed a slab fracture of the hind leg and now belongs to the Meyers. She was bred to Frenchman's Guy for a 2016 goal. She has a Firewater Canyon baby on her now. My trainer has a young stallion out of her by Onthewingsofglory. He will be ready for futurities next year. He is very well mannered and smart. Should make a super barrel horse. |

I've owned several Special Effort bred mares and Hot Colours are just that. Hot. I had 2 daughters and both had terrible feet and both eventually had laminitis. I just really think there are better ways to go. One of our mares had a decent disposition and her babies by our stallion were very user friendly, the other was a bit of a rip and her babies if not crossed well were nasty. She did great on our Burrs First Down son, not so much on the Rare Form son. |

Location: MI | Agree with Wyoming. At one point our entire herd of broodmares were all Special Effort bred. Hot Colours and Special Leader both seem to pass bad feet. I loved the Special Leader minds, Hot Colours not so much. If you find a good one, they definitely have ability and are tough and gritty. |

Location: Tulsa, Ok | I had a gelding out of a daughter of Bully Bullion and by Hot Colours. He was very tallented - BUT he had crappy feet, a lot of attitude and probably the most pea hearted animal I have ever met. I swear that I could go outside and kick him on the hoof with my tennis shoe and he would limp for a weak. |
