Has anyone run one?
I have a gunner grand daughter that was originally a resale buy, but I am falling in love with her and thinking of running her in the futurities with my other futurity baby.
They are both 2 so I figured I'd run them in their 4 or 5 year old year together.
I'd really like be interested to know how well they do or don't do. :

She is super cute!

And super easy to train. I just started her yesterday and we almost have a riderless spin down with just a finger cue! I was inspired by a reining video I saw where the guy got off and had the horse spinning with just finger cues :P

There's no doubt that Gunner's offspring would be capable. Should have plenty of athleticism and trainability. The speed might be a question but I've seen several reining bred horses that were fast enough to make phenomenal barrel horses.

That was my thing too! I don't know what type of speed she will have.
It was just a thought to run her in futurities
(depending on how her training goes in barrels
) and if she proves to be a candidate.
She will be a jam up horse no matter what. :

Depends on the bottom side....Gunner's are notorious for being lazy and dead sided. So if the bottom side is something a little hotter that will help:
) They are still cute as heck!

Thank you! I didn't know too much about them other than they rock the reining pen!

They do especially for non-pros for that reason....they are extremely "push style" and love to stop lol! Still worth a shot, there are exceptions to every rule!
