Anyone have an pros or cons to a Lakota trailer?  Quality compared to say a Sundowner?

From what I've seen, I'm very impressed with the quality for the price.  I've never been a fan of Sundowner, but the Lakota's have really caught my eye.

We love our new lakota. It is not as heavy duty as a Bloomer but is well thought out. It pulls very smooth. They also back their product up. So thumbs up!

I have owned a couple Sundowner trailers and I custom ordered my Lakota.  I LOVE my Lakota. I actually need to order a bigger one b/c the Child Gone Wild is taking up more space in the trailer with her horses.  The customer service with Lakota is AWESOME! They make themselves available and I will drop in at my dealer and have him go over it now and then because I am a DIVA like that.  Service has been awesome.  The changes I made to it while it was being built. .they may have cringed when I called, but they did everything I wanted.

I have a friend that bought a used one and she has loved it. I stayed in it with her a few times, and it is nice inside.

For the most part I really like mine. It pulls good, my horses haul good in it. I was disappointed when they didn't stand behind a warranty issue that I had & were rude about it as well.... other than that I have no complaints.

Is it the Charger or Big Horn? Lakota has three different models, each a little better than the last.Β The Charger is the "economy" model, the Bighorn is a little better, and the Luxe is their best.

I have a Big Horn. It's a beautiful trailer, but I'd recommend perhaps going the next model up if you travel a lot with it. We have a lot of little things fall apart, such as rivets, when we haul. The company was wonderful to deal with on a couple bigger issues that we notified them about. We do absolutely love the trailer, just hope it holds up.

For the money, if you're a weekend warrior and not hauling thousands of miles a year I don't think you can beat the Lakota.  I've never been a fan of Sundowner - a friend of mine had a window fall off going down the road last year and the trailer is only 5 years old.  Another friend of mine just bought a 2011 Lakota Charger and they like it a lot.  The haul less than 5000 miles a year got a great deal on it.  So far they haven't had any problems with it.

I just spent several months looking at trailers and talking to dealers.  I ended up going with a Platinum for numerous reasons, but I thought long and hard about a Lakota though!!
