I am scheduled to take him to the vet Friday so would like suggestions/experiences to go over with vet. I intend to have ultrasound/xrays done. Here's the story. Horse has not shown any outward signs of lameness, no limping. Only thing I have noticed is a very very slight hesitation at the beginning of a workout to move out. Not quite the normal quick response I would get from him. Worked him on a Friday after he had been off a week, worked fine, worked him Saturday and Sunday, was a little hesitant, chalked it up to maybe being a little sore after not being ridden/worked in over a week. Noticed the Monday morning that he had swelling on hind right from the fetlock down the pastern to the hoof. Put mags on him, swelling went down immediately. Left him alone for 2 weeks just in case it was a sprain/strain and time limitations. Rode/worked him lightly Saturday/Sunday 2 weeks later. Still a little hesitant but worked out of it and actually worked pretty well. Went to feed Sunday evening and a little swelling was back. Put mags on swelling gone. Any suggestions on what it could be or questions I should have the vet or have her check? Thanks
