Do you long trot more than you lope? Time wise the same, so actual ground covered yes.

Lope more than you trot? See above.

Do you pony them off a 4 wheeler or another horse? No, don't have either.

Do you think that gets them as fit as physically being on their back?  I suppose, but I like to get riding fit too

How many days a week do you exercise? I ride 4-6 times per week, including competition runs.  On the high end if he's getting in shape, low end once he is in shape.

How long? 20-40 minutes

Do you go by miles or minutes? Minutes

Any days off?  Yes

Do you long trot more than you lope? Depends on the horse, I try to keep it pretty even though. One of my horses needs to be loping more to build strength. The other has some soundness issues so I trot more.
Lope more than you trot? ^^
Do you pony them off a 4 wheeler or another horse? I pony off a horse depending on my time constraints. As stated above one horse does has some issues I try to keep minimalized by ponying/ lunging in a LARGE "round pen" ( its more like a rectangle with wide rounded ends)
Do you think that gets them as fit as physically being on their back? I think that it is a good tool to start one on an exercise program and then maintain one, but riding should be added in my opinion
How many days a week do you exercise? I exercise them at least 4 days a week not counting jackpots
How long? never under 30 minutes. not usually longer than 60 mins. I usually am very constricted on time. I am a college student and have a job too so I get as much in as I can.
Do you go by miles or minutes? minutes. and I keep track of how long I do each gate, each direction
Any days off? yes, usually because of rain or other commitments.

Do you long trot more than you lope? Regular exercise, about the same - but I long trot A LOT out in the field
Lope more than you trot? See above
Do you pony them off a 4 wheeler or another horse? Have done both, usually off another horse
Do you think that gets them as fit as physically being on their back? Just for cardio, yes
How many days a week do you exercise? 4-5 with a day off after a barrel race
How long? If I am training, just long enough to end on a good note, no real set time. If they are working good I keep it a little shorter. I also try to ride more them once a day on my younger colts.
Do you go by miles or minutes? Minutes
Any days off? After barrel races, or if it is extremely hot or cold.

When you exercise your open horses through the weekday..

Do you long trot more than you lope? Yes
Lope more than you trot? No
Do you pony them off a 4 wheeler or another horse? Another horse
Do you think that gets them as fit as physically being on their back? Yes. Since I'm ponying from another horse, I've got to be riding one of them. Neither or them get drilled much, just exercised to get/stay in shape. I alternate who I ride so that I can flex them move off my leg, give their face, etc.
How many days a week do you exercise? 3-4 depending on time of year and restrictions (weather)
How long? 30-45 minutes
Do you go by miles or minutes? Minutes - and number of laps/circles. I haul out to an arena. I walk 10 minutes (5 minutes each direction) then trot 3 laps each direction. Lope around half the pen 3-4 times each direction depending on how soft they are in the face. Then walk 10 minutes (5 each direction) to cool down.
Any days off? Yes. Due to weather and commitments and I let them rest the day before and after a show.

Do you long trot more than you lope? Nope.  I will long trot if I am just starting back after a lay off, but I think that you get more stamina from loping.
Lope more than you trot? Yes. I have a trail, then we rope on everything too.  So lots more loping.
Do you pony them off a 4 wheeler or another horse?  Pony off another horse, if they pony.  This usually leaves the same horses getting ponied because the stupid calf horses don't pony at all!!!
Do you think that gets them as fit as physically being on their back?  I think it gets just as much wind as riding, but they don't get as much physical exercise.  A good mix is a must. When I ride teh horses that get ponied we do a lot of smaller circles, roll backs, correct loping.
How many days a week do you exercise? Depends on how long the weekend was.  I try to ride 2 days M-Th, then we are entered somewhere Fri & Sat, sometimes Th & Sun too.
How long? 20-45 mins depending on if we run calves or not.
Do you go by miles or minutes? Neither.  I ride until we have roped like we want or the horse has started sweating.
Any days off? Yes.  Everyone needs a break.

Do you long trot more than you lope?
Pretty even, trotting builds more 'stamina' persay, as in more lung capacity. Also trotting for topline work. I will lope to build          muscle.
Lope more than you trot?
Do you pony them off a 4 wheeler or another horse?
No, I would probably get ripped off the 4 wheeler and my other horses don't pony.
Do you think that gets them as fit as physically being on their back?
No, I have ponied a horse I used to run before he got hurt - the same amount of work while being ridden versus behind the 4
wheeler and I saw 2 totally different sweat/winded levels.
How many days a week do you exercise?
On 3 yo, she gets 2 days off.
On PSSM horse - 7 days a week
How long?
Anywhere from 20 minutes to 60 minutes
Do you go by miles or minutes?
      Minutes
Any days off?
See above, but 2 days out of the week the PSSM mare gets easier exercise.

Do you long trot more than you lope?  Lope more than you trot?
Do both pretty equally.  I will also breeze a couple times during the week.

Do you pony them off a 4 wheeler or another horse?
Will pony off of another horse and also utilize a walker (trotting).

Do you think that gets them as fit as physically being on their back?
I always rotate who is getting ridden and who is ponied to give them equal time under saddle. If I  did ponying or walker alone, I think there is a difference.

How many days a week do you exercise?
Mondays are usually the day off around my house. Especially if the horse was hauled the previous weekend.

How long?
When riding I like to give them an hour worth of exercise various speeds - walk / trot / lope and breezing.  When they are on the walker they get 25 minutes on the walker.

Do you go by miles or minutes?
Minutes.
Any days off?
Mondays are off at my house.   If we are not competing during the weekend, we will haul somewhere to trail ride and give them a break from the routine and a different kind of exercise.

Do you long trot more than you lope? Yes
Lope more than you trot? Negative
Do you pony them off a 4 wheeler or another horse? No
Do you think that gets them as fit as physically being on their back? No
How many days a week do you exercise? 4-6 depending on how my horse and I are feeling
How long? 30 mins to an hour usually
Do you go by miles or minutes? Minutes I guess. I estimate everything. I am a HUGE believer in schooling dressage at home regardless of what you compete in so we practice and when learning new things sometimes I'll get off early if it clicks and they really get it to reward them. Sometimes if they're a pain then it's longer.
Any days off? 1-3 like I said above, it depends on us. My horse and I both have some health issues so sometimes one of us is just not up to a ride.

When you exercise your open horses through the weekday..

Do you long trot more than you lope? Depends on the horse. I have one horse with a chronic sore neck, the chiro said to limit our long trotting so we do. The other two about 40/60 trot lope.
Lope more than you trot? yes
Do you pony them off a 4 wheeler or another horse? I have ponied them off another horse when I am short on time or like when CC was coming back from the stifle injury and wasn't ready to bear rider weight yet. Not the biggest fan of ponying.
Do you think that gets them as fit as physically being on their back? Might get them cardio fit but you cannot ask them to collect up properly being ponied.
How many days a week do you exercise? Do I exercise? I've been a slob lately, last night was the first time I ran in almost 6 months due to lifes ups and downs. Horses I won't run unless I get them ridden 3-4 times a week and THAT DOES NOT INCLUDE RACES, LOL!!! So in other words I am not a fan of riding M-T-TH running Sat and Sun and saying I rode 5 times a week. 3 works for me if they are in running shape already. Like right now, I haven't ridden in a little over a month. Lost my mom late July, she was in hospice for a week before that. It will be mid September with 4-5 days of riding before mine will see a race again.
How long? Getting them fit normally 45 minutes to an hour, once I have them in shape then more like 1/2 hour
Do you go by miles or minutes? depends on the day and where I'm riding. Creek bed we go by miles, loping/trotting circles minutes.
Any days off? I have 3 and a full time job so time constraints force a type of rotation of who gets ridden each day as does if I'm headed to a race or not. The day after a race I normally get on and walk them around for about 10 minutes and then stretch them but rarely do I ride.

Do you long trot more than you lope? Lope more than you trot?  I do about equal time of both.

Do you pony them off a 4 wheeler or another horse?   Nope. I am constantly working on something with each horse, so I need to ride them to do that.
Do you think that gets them as fit as physically being on their back?  They need to be in-shape to pack a rider as well, so I would say that if someone would choose to use a 4-wheeler or pony due to time constraints, you will need to still actually ride the horse on the regular basis. Plus that keeps them responsive and soft to your aids.
How many days a week do you exercise?  Including the races on weekends, usually 4 or 5. I typically give them the day off before and after a race.
How long?  Do you go by miles or minutes?   I go more by miles, but it usually works out to a 60 min workout when you include warm up and cool down. I typically do 1/2 mile walk to warm-up, then a combo of trotting/loping for 2 1/2 - 3 miles, then about 1 mile walk for a cool down. Some nights I will breeze them. Some nights, we work circles and such in the arena.
Any days off? Yes.

Do you long trot more than you lope? Yes, I love that long lean underline!
Lope more than you trot? No, or try not to.
Do you pony them off a 4 wheeler or another horse?  I do like to pony off another horse if I am pressed for time.
Do you think that gets them as fit as physically being on their back? I think it is good for them to be able to move with a saddle or any weight on their back. Works different muscles.
How many days a week do you exercise? 3 if I am racing all weekend or 5 if no races.
How long? 35-40 mins.
Do you go by miles or minutes?  Minutes. I am always pressed for time with another horse or two to be ridden
Any days off? Yes! Super good for them to be turned out. Keeps them happy Try to give them two days off a week. Always the day after a race if possible.
