I haven't seen a roll call in quite some time.  Who all is going to ANHA in Waco this weekend?  My trailer is loaded and I'm heading that way in the morning.  My daughter is #80 and I'm #84.  Of course she is trying to ride my 6yo crackhead now that her horse is hurt and I'll be stylin' on the 25yo.  I think they should give an award for the oldest combined age.  We're 77 together!

Oh good luck to both of you!  I wish I was on this roll call but I've only been backed to riding for two weeks since my June 29th surgery. Me and the horses are not in the best of shape.
Here's to the best of luck to y'all and others going.

So how did everyone do?  The kid and I had a good weekend.  Friday started out U-G-L-Y.  I entered my 25yo dinosaur in poles just to see if I might should enter the shootout.  She thought we were bowling and tried to bowl a strike, hitting 3 poles and rocking 2 more.  She ran a low 22 but then it's a lot faster if you don't actually weave.  :)  Then after my barrel run of 18.9, my daughter told me I had gone faster in the practice pen at home.  Gee, the truth hurts!  Things got better Saturday as we got a check in the 4D and qualified for Monday.  Monday's run was awesome for a 25yo mare making her 5th run in 4 days.  She ran an 18.4 and although it didn't win any $$ I was so proud of her!
Chase had an awesome weekend for her and the Crackhead who isn't 'finished'.  She's been riding her less than 2 months and they ran 18.3, 18.0, 18.1 and 17.8.  I'm so pleased with the consistancy and the confidence they are getting in each other.  The 17.8 was huge surprise as they ran really wild and wide on the first.  The saving grace was that they never slowed down.  Chase wanted a check in the shootout and got stuck on the gas pedal!  I had to laugh - fastest time on the worst pattern!
It was great weekend.  Got to visit with old friends, new friends and watched a ton of great runs!

Nicely done for both of y'all. Y'all need to be proud of those runs. It sure does make for a great weekend when you leave smiling from ear to ear.

My good mare informed me how lame she was on the back side of first in the first round, scratched her for the second. :(
Had her to A&M yesterday, just a nasty bruise from -probably- kicking the stall. So upsetting, I was miserable that she was hurt, was all for thinking the worst! Thank goodness though, she'll be just fine! I had a stud all picked out though!!

My 13 year old gelding had his 5th and 6th run back after kissing spine surgery and three years off. The first round was full of bobbles with an 18.5. I was delighted, in my eyes he can do no wrong. I rode him much better the second round and we cruised a 17.93. I was crying when we came out of the alley, I've got my horse back under me! He's so changed, style and everything are completely new, he's like learning a new horse!

The best part of ANHA for me has always been the people. I have a fantastic support network that is always entered up too, it feels like one big celebration the whole four days. We have a blast! A big show like that is always a happy place for me. :)
Just wish my mare had been sound!
