Subject: Alfalfa question

Location: London Ontario		How much is too much? I currently have an off the track QH, 3 yr old on Tribute Kalm n Ez, Omega Alpha Biotic 8 and I give her Omega Alpha Kidney flush a few times a week. They have free choice hay during the day, and a flake at night. The barn owner feeds first cut till its out, then feeds second cut, they hay has a decent amount of alfalfa in it. Would it be too much to add Timothy/Alfalfa cubes at night too? She has this month off then back to work beg. of Oct. Any ideas?

Location: Willows, CA		It depends on how much concentrate you are feeding, and how good your hay is. At three years old he needs 15%+ protein for the whole diet. If you are hitting that already you are probably good where you are now. Check his teeth too.
