new saddle question not seen on here

I have been thru alot of saddles trying to fit this horse of mine. I finally found a saddle that fits him perfect every where but one spot and it is so tight on his spine on the very edge of the saddle behind the seat I have never had a problem there. It has also rubbed a small sore to the right of the spine if you look from behind the butt. I tried cutting a couple pads to free up the space and not having any luck. also without a pad it sits right on top of spine with no room at all. Ive never had a problem in this area. It is making him pretty sore in loin area. has anyone else had this problem in the same area? Thanks

To me that means the saddle doesn't fit at all. If it is rubbing sores on him and making sore in the loins I wouldn't be using it anymore.

Could be a warped tree, you may need to try a different saddle, same tree/brand

You could take it to a saddle maker and have him take the leather lacing off and spread that area apart and stitch a new piece of leather on to hold the two sides apart, will kind of make a flare at the back of the skirt. I would have someone check to be sure the saddle tree fits him OK, but sometimes a "perfect" fit can not be found and you have to make some modifications to make what you have work for your horse.
My husbands pony horse had something like this happen and we used a CSI pad to keep the saddle off his spine. Turns out he had EPM and Lyme disease and that made him lose his topline in a matter of a few weeks.
