lasix- race recovery electrolyte paste by KER

Has any one ever used the electrolyte paste specially formulated for horses on lasix? Kentucky Equine Research has done a few studies on the amount of time it takes for a horse to recover from the use of lasix. They found that horses continue to loose calcium and electrolytes over the course of the next few days after they were dosed with lasix and can not recover proper levels from other sources of foods in their diet. I just bought some of their race recovery paste and powder to try. I was wondering if anyone eles uses this? Its a little pricy with how you are supposed to dose it but I am hoping it is worth it since lasix can be hard on our horse. Here is a link to the article...

I have not used this particular product. I do haul a mare who is a moderate bleeder and have been using Elite Recovery from Oxy Gen to replenish her body after runs, but am interested to see what you feel about this product from KER

Oxygen has a new paste as well called Race X for horses that use Lasix. It has ingredients from bleeder stop, electrolytes and lung support so it is a 3 in 1!!! It's been a huge hit and we can barely keep it in stock.

i thought when i read that paper was that horses did replenish their electrolytes but they continued to lose them for longer than they expected, and it small doses of lasix caused the same amount go diuresis as large amounts.
I'm sure if you follow up with basic electrolytes you should be fine, but I like that theres a product tailored for lasix.

I tried it. Couldn't get my horse to eat the powder and he hated the paste! And yes, it gets pretty expensive giving it as they recommend.

I liked the paste. I did find smart packs pelleted electrolytes is comparable on the levels and combination of ingredients. I feed that like I would the race recovery. My horse eats it really well since it is pelleted.
