Pricing a Bleeder

Just looking for opinions. I have a 13 yr old gelding. Barrels and Poles. Wanting to put him up for sale but I'm not sure how much I should ask for him seeing as how he suffers from eiph. What is yalls opinion? How much of a price change does eiph cause when selling your horse?
Thank you

I am presently marketing a nice local 1D, World show type 2D horse who is a moderate bleeder. Runs on 4 cc's of Lasix, gets Bleeder Stop supplement daily. Horse also has Pro rodeo earnings, etc... I do take into consideration that the horse is a bleeder, but honestly at that level, more of them bleed than most folks might have you think. On this particular horse, I factored about a $5,000 hit because they bleed.

^^ Whoa! I didn't discount mine that much! Maybe $1k? I do think it will weed people out. I would own another one so long as they are managable. More horses bleed than people think.

I did not consider a price deduction on the 1D/2D barrel horse I sold who was a bleeder.

Personally I would not price a bleeder any lower than I would a horse that didn't bleed, nor would i look away from one that bled if it was priced based on its performance and history. Depending on the price range you are dealing with, if you price a bleeder lower, do you risk having the horse sell to someone who doesn't know enough on how to care for a bleeder or will just pay to buy a good horse for a "discounted" price? I would be more worried about selling my 1D horse that bleeds at a lower price to someone who just wants to get a "cheaper" 1D horse and not consider all the health factors and special care they may need.

I have worked out a formula through the years regarding the pro's and cons of a horse and what each of them are valued at for each particular horse. With one of this caliber and price tag, there are a few things that come together for me to be comfortable with not pricing her at the top end of her range. The fact that she's a bleeder is about the biggest thing that anyone could knock the horse for. I figure if they want to try and haggle $5,000, they can use the bleeding as a reason and I really won't care because I'm still happy with the price.
