Member Posts: 48	I was long trotting down a dirt road when my horse stopped (without being asked) and reared so high she almost went over. No biggy right. Fast-forward and I'm trotting down the same road and the mare stopped (again without being asked) and brings her front toe down and THORWS herself over. She's been scoped after running and isn't bleeding. What else could be doing this? Anyone else experience this?

Extreme Veteran Posts: 456 Location: SW MO	The reason I asked that is because I had a mare that was landing toe first because of incorrect hoof angles, causing her feet to be really sore and she would stumble/fall. I don't know your mare or the make up of the coffin joint region of her limb because every horse doesn't have the exact same build but that's my experience.

Texas Taco Posts: 7499 Location: Bandera, TX	I have a mare who would rear up out of the blue, and also went over once. Turned out to be a bad case of kissing spine. I could have saved myself a lot of money and pain if I had taken back x-Rays sooner. Good luck!!!
