Should there still be swelling?

So 2 months ago while at the trainer's, my 2 year old got a puncture wound on the outside of his hock that got infected. He was infused for 5 days and the infection cleared up. However, he was a terrible patient and HATED the stall rest. He jumped out of his stall once and busted out another time.
Took him back to the vet because of the swelling, x-rays showed no bone changes and fluid drained showed no infection. Vet says turnout should reduce swelling and it has some but not all.
What are your thoughts? Be patient? Second opinion? Call original vet back with update?
He is totally sound on it and not bothered at all by palpating it.
Thanks.

Hocks are tricky, I probably would inject it with either HA or Palesine to reduce the inflammation, as inflammation long term can cause arthritis to set in.
I do preventative long term not short term and there are not many vets who think along those lines

Thank you, that's exactly why I am concerns about it but never thought about injecting it.
