Veteran Posts: 232 Location: Winging It in KY	Has anyone ever used them? I have a pawing / digging horse that pulls regular stall mats up and was wondering if a Stall Saver would work. Just trying to get some feedback from anyone who has used them. Thanks in advance.

My husband and I kept scratching on it to see if it would damage the material any. So if anyone has any experience with this mat, it would be much appreciated to hear your input. Thanks.

They allowed the urine/water to seep through and not come back up. The recommendation is for a lot of shavings on top. I used ceda-rest on top of mine. Held up great in the rain and I had a dry stall. But as far as saving for pacing/pawing... I don't think they'll hold up.

I've had mine in the stalls now for about 5 years but they now have to be replaced as it has torn up in some places. It was easy to install and for the price I believe it was worth it. We are buying from them again.

Elite Veteran Posts: 851 Location: West Texas	We do not have them, but we did research. Like has been said, they require a lot of shavings to hold up. I think with your issue, you might not be happy with it on a horse that likes to paw. What we ended up doing is chat screening base with interlocking mats and use a thin layer of pelleted shavings on top. We use much less shavings and are satisfied with the results.
