I need one lol. Most barrel trainers I have talked to, that I like, don't want one from the ground up.

Located somewhere around central OK

This is called a colt starter.

Good luck finding a good one ... the best have year long (or mores) waiting lists.

I send mine to Bill Fleming and Audra Masterson in Stratford, OK. They're fantastic to work with, treat your horse great, and your horse will come back soft and responsive, but not scared. They start all of Monica McClung's colts, as well as a few other futurity trainers' personal colts. Pm me if you'd like their contact info.

The guy I use is in Nacogdoches TX. Probably too far for you. My barrel trainer really likes what he does or doesn't do. She doesn't like to have to retrain when she gets horse and he really just puts a good stop on them, has them moving off his leg, and has them picking up leads. He takes them for 30 days. This is what my trainer wants so this is what I do.

Dale will be getting my two babies in the spring.  He does a great job, super quiet, and an incredibly honest man.

Liana DeWeese claremore, ok. I send them to her once they have had a couple rides and know the bare minimum. Walk trot lope, stop and back, she does all the foundation, Collection, leg yielding and flexion work.

I really think any horse should have a nice handle before starting training for any discipline. I think the basic training is exactly the same for most everything. There are a lot of people that can and do a good job at this. I know a girl in Midland Tx that sure gets the job done and can get one riding around as good as anyone I know

Stewart Kimber - Boomerang Downs, he's from Australia but lives in Stillwater now. Does amazing work, will not take any over the age 4 and non off the track if they've had a lot of outs. He impressed the heck out of me and I will be sending all my colts to him. He's a quiet rider and does lots of ground work.
