I just switched to a CE 100% Alpaca Cinch and I love it. My horse had gotten a sore from his previous cinch, which quickly healed once switched. It's soft and comfy. I do wish I had gotten a size smaller (it does stretch), but my colt is growing, so I think it's fine for now, and will last as he fills out a bit.

slipperyslope - 2016-10-22 7:25 PM I get my mohair cinches from 5 Star (Rockyroad) and they are 100% mohair - no crappy "other" fibers. What I was told was to order the size I normally use, but when I got it, it would be shorter to start. And after 1 or 2 uses, it would stretch to where it should be. That was very accurate info AND they also can come w/the flat top buckle too.

I got the smaller buckle with the flat roller--so glad I did.  I was afraid the smaller slot would be too small but it's perfect.

I like mohair for everyday use, but because of the stretch I  don't care for them in competition. For that I use neoprene.

I currently use a Classic Equine mohair cinch and I love it. I had one that stretched out too long for my horse, sold it and got a fleece girth. I hated it. Sold that and bought another Classic Equine mohair in a shorter size. I don't think I will ever use a different type of cinch.
