Osteoarthritis in Fetlock Joint...Need Input!!

Bad news here at the farm. Our daughters 10 yo pony was diagnosed with a bad fetlock joint. We injected the ankle and are giving her 4 months off. KNowing full well that cartilage doesn't regrow and the chances of her becoming super competitive again are slim. Does anyone have any input on therapies or supplements thjat could help? Thank you

The most important thing to do is to keep the inflammation out of the leg.
I have one who has OA in coffin and pastern, he was bone on bone in certain areas in the joint. My vet injected him with HA and reinjected a month later.
While I was running him, I had him on an oral suppliment
(I know no evidence to support that it works
), glucosamine injections weekly and after running, I focused on cooling his legs down.
I also had the farrier do his front feet every 4 weeks to keep the toe short, and we squared his toe.
If you find a good maintenance program, you may be able to compete on him without antiinflammatories

My gelding has thinned cartilage in his front fetlocks. He gets Pentosan every 2-3 weeks, I alternate BOT and MagnaCu products, and we shoe him with rocker toes to ease breakover. He still needs injected sometimes. When he gets to where I can't keep the puffiness out, I get him done.

If you can imagine the joint right below the seismoid bones that's where the problem is. One side has more of a gap than the other. They have no idea how it happened. Talked to my local vet after leaving the main hospital yesterday. Mentioned the pentosan and we are going to look into it on Monday

Curost EQ pure is a great option for daily inflammation prevention. My 10 year old gelding has more arthritis than hair lol. He was formerly on daily previcox and injections. Now on EQ pure and running great.

My daughter's 28yo gelding is arthritic everywhere, I'm certain. He gets a supplement daily called Actistatin, I highly recommend it. It's expensive, but has made a HUGE difference in his movement.
